The Beginnings of Revel. Reflect. Be.

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

Growing up, I always said that creativity hurt my head. I would stand befuddled at the foot of my younger's sister bed as she sat surrounded by shimmery, glittery reams of scrapbook paper and a dazzling array of alphabet stickers. I would shake my head with such intensity and wonder why anyone would remotely be interested in this maddening waste of time.

And yet here I am-creating a website for my very own handcrafted greeting cards and reflecting back to the very first greeting card I made.

The transition was a gentle one-coming from a place of inspiration rather than pressure. It was my cousin's first wedding anniversary, and I wanted to commemorate it by doing something heartfelt. So the idea was born to encapsulate all the love and joy I felt by creating a greeting card that could convey all this. (See below for pictures!)

Little did I know that I was embarking on a path that would require me to feed my obsession for creation. Working on that single greeting card was akin to drinking some sort of magical elixir where the hours just melted away, and there was so much joy and satisfaction.

So I began making greeting cards for every possible occasion for every relative in my life and when there was no more, I brainstormed the model to make greeting cards on a donation basis. This way I could continuously create and raise money for organizations that were important to me. My work family in the Virology Dept. and Erica at Massage Wellness and Beyond really supported me in the beginning and I will forever grateful to them.

Thanks for reading about my journey so far.

Stay tuned for my next blog post to find out the meaning behind Revel. Reflect. Be. In the meantime, please comment below-How do you interpret what it means?

Love & Gratitude,

Harneet
